Перед воротами Эдема
Две розы пышно расцвели,
Но роза — страстности эмблема,
А страстность — детище земли.

Одна так нежно розовеет,
Как дева, милым смущена,
Другая, пурпурная, рдеет,
Огнем любви обожжена.

А обе на Пороге Знанья…
Ужель Всевышний так судил
И тайну страстного сгоранья
К небесным тайнам приобщил?!

In front of the gates of Eden
Two roses blossomed magnificently,
But the rose is a passion emblem,
And passion is the brainchild of the earth.

One is so gently pink,
Like a virgin, confused,
The other, magenta, is burning,
In the fire of love.

And both on the Threshold of Knowledge...
Is it the Almighty's decision
To attach the mystery of passionate combustion
To heavenly secrets?!
